Record Time: "Father Figure"

Howdy folks, I hope everyone has had a great week. I took a few days off from writing last week to spend the weekend at the Ashville Viking Festival with some friends from college. It was a blast. I highly recommend checking it out if you're ever in the area.

This week's playlist is all out '80s. Get ready for some synths, drum machines, and a whole lot of hairspray. I recently rewatched the 2017 spy thriller "Atomic Blonde." Based on a graphic novel, it features Charlize Theron and James Mcavoy in Cold War-era Berlin. It's filled with choreographed fight scenes set to the ultimate '80s soundtrack. Its soundtrack is the major inspiration for this week's playlist.

From Bronski Beat's "Smalltown Boy" to George Michael's "Father Figure," this week's mix features some of my favorite 80's tracks. I've also included a couple of 90's songs like Parliament's "Flashlight" for the fun of it. So, dig out those members-only jackets, throw on those ray bans, and enjoy.
