The inspiration for this week's playlist comes from my old college roommate Sam. After listening to the last edition, he requested that "Till There Was You" by the Beatles be added to a future playlist. Ask and you shall receive Sam.
In this week's mix, I've got a blend of new and old artists. They range from Amy Winehouse to The Monkees. A large influence of this week's mix is Spotify's playlist, "The New Retro". It features modern artists who recreate sounds from the 50s, 60s and 70s. I discovered this playlist along with my dad back in 2016 while living in Colorado.
I was amazed at the ability contemporary artists had to construct new music that emanated some of the classic sounds I grew up listening to. Believe it or not, I didn't grow up in the 60's. I did however grow up watching the DVD set of "The Monkees" a 60s sitcom that featured the band.
So without further ado, here is this week's Record Time playlist "Till There Was You"
